I meant to make this post yesterday, but I didn’t.
I finally finished NaNoWrimo yesterday before 3 in the afternoon(I finished with a word count of 51, 375), and I was excited. Sure, when I got up this morning I thought to myself, ‘woah, I don’t have to write anymore.”
No more time after whatever just to pound out words to reach the goal. It felt different, going back to the way things were before this past month’s activities.
Do I plan to do it next year? Of course I do.
This is my second year doing NaNoWriMo. Last y ears attempt failed miserably, and I finished the 50,000 words this August. This year though, things changed.
To those of you that accomplished the task that was set before us, I salute you. To those who didn’t finish, or who are working hastily until the midnight oil burns, I salute you as well. It’s a tough decision to commit to, you can definitely do it.
Now, if you actually remember this, and know what it’s about, then serious props to you
(And I’m pretty sure my dad has the vinyl somewhere for it :P)
So maybe it was for years prior, but it brings up Memories of the flory days, and the one that probably everyone remembers is the home run Joe Carter hit to win the world series, and the Toronto Blue Jays having such an amazing team, winning back to back World Series in 92 and 93 (I just realized that it happened 18 years ago! crazy)
Why am I bringing this up? well back in September I believe I had heard the Jays were going to get new uniforms for the 2012 season and with the red maple leaf more Prominent and I’m thinking in my mind they were going to be white with a big red leaf right on the front. In my mind I had thought they would be terrible. a friend of mine and myself, always commented how we loved the flashback fridays where the baby blue’s would make a comeback for at least one night a week. We had also thought it would be cool if they’d bring back the jerseys from the gold ole days, with Joe Carter, John Olerud (can’t remember exactly how to spell his last name off the top of my head) Tony Fernandez, Kelly Gruber and Dave Stieb.
I’m on the mailing list for the jays and when I see the email about the jerseys for next season, I wasn’t sure what to think, but I knew that I had to look. I was honestly amazed, and thinking, heck Yes! So I am all in favour of bring back these jerseys, I’m not a huge fans of the ones they had, as I was reading I think on national post or some other site saying the other logo looked kinda like an angry Jay, but thank you that it’s gone. Their a modern take on the classic look , and I like them.
The only suggestion that would make these jersey’s a lot better? Take away the fill style of Toronto and have it the same style as the other words. oh! and here’s the link to the National Post article I mentioned if you want to read it/and or haven’t seen the greatness yet.
Edit – It’s Olerud
I definitely have this little Monty Python audio clip playing in my head, it’s absolutely great.
But I chose it as a title because – I’m not going to talk about the things I’ve mentioned for the past few weeks, this is going to be something completely different.
Any of you out there a fan of literature reading? I am, just sitting down with a really good book? If you know me, which probably most of you won’t, well maybe all who knows, but I like to read. A lot. I loved to read as a kid, but there was a brief time, when I wouldn’t read so much, and I can’t remember why. What brought me back to reading books, is when I was at the library, looking through the kids books (Yes, I still read kids books and they are great) but I found these books by the guy that does the sudokus for the NY times and all of those books. His first name is Will, but I can’t remember his last name off the top of my head and these kids books were called the potato chip puzzle or something to that effect. The title caught me by surprise, and I had to find out more because it intrigued me so. It was a great story, and through out the book there were puzzles you could solve. You didn’t really need to solve the puzzles for the story, but they were fun none the less. I tried, but only managed to read to do a few puzzles and got stuck with the rest so I looked at the back of the book for the answers and I’m like oh! that’s how it was. Or I think for one of them I looked at part of the answer and tried to do the rest on my own.
Anyways, I still love to read, currently I have a box of 8 books that I got from book closeouts.com (really amazing prices on books, and I haven’t even started reading these because I have all the trade paperback comics to read :P) Some are one of the Anderson Cooper’s books, and quite a few Ted Dekker books. Great Author. Most of the books that are in the box are Nick/scratch and dent, with means that they aren’t super perfect copies. Even buying the nick and dent comics and the books I have, There’s only been one book(possibly two) that have damages. It’s a great way to save money, and to have a great read. (Like some books I was getting for four dollars and regular price is like 25 and these are for the hardcover versions of them!
I like to read all kids of books, and one of my favourite’s which I haven’t read it in a long time because I have to find it is 1984.
What books do you like to read? Favourite Authors?
THought everyone could use a liyyle holiday cheer even though it isn’t Dencember yet, but you could use this anytime of the year right? THought so
Well anyways, I just happened to find this little amazing song by an amazing artist. I don’t have the whole album yet, but I’m hoping to get it.
Sometime this weekend? I’ll give you a catch up of what’s happened in my life so far
-I broke 30,000 words for my NaNoWriMo novel (I help out at the high school there was no school yesterday because it was a p.d. day, so I wrote 7,000 words. Crazy Man!) I’m currently standing at 32,405 words, I’m like 4 days ahead, it’s crazy.
– I read several comics yesterday, a lot of the number 3’s that have come out in the past two weeks, trying to catch up :P
-I finished reading Trigun Maximum Vol. 12 which I got for a dollar
-I started reading Spiderman Reign Trade I have, so far I really like it
and you know what? that all happened yesterday, lots of stuff!
so I am way ahead of my word count for NaNoWriMo. We need 23,338 to meet our daily quota for today. It’s only 9:39 in the morning and I’m already at 24,033. I’m definitely planning on getting ahead today unto 26,000, maybe even more. I don’t have anything to do today, so it’s a writing day! wooooo
Watched this in church this morning, and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it before, still amazing though!
