Here it is! the second Jevin Banks Novel from Steven James, and boy this is one thrill ride after another! I liked it just as much as the first , but maybe even slightly better, though, you can decide for yourself. It’s just as face paced as the first one, and I absolutely enjoyed this.

Jevin Banks, illusionist extraordinaire, find’s himself tangled up in a mystery, he doesn’t know where it’s going. Thought provoking as well, there’s a lot of things that are in this book that really make you think. You think you have everything figured out about the book, and than next minute (or page I should say) you don’t have everything figured out!

Steven James has done such a great job with the character development and also the research because he definitely knows what he’s talking about, almost seems like you could relate some of the things to the real world. The detail is spot on, all the detail painting an image like you’re actually there.

I didn’t find anything bad to say about this book, the pace isn’t so, and you’re always wondering what’s going to happen  next with all of the charactersHonestly this book was so good, that I can’t wait until there’s hopefully a new one?

God’s Double Agent

Standard

“Tens of millions of Christians live in China today, many of them leading double lives or in hiding from a government that relentlessly persecutes them. Bob Fu, whom the Wall Street Journal called “The pastor of China”s underground railroad,” is fighting to protect his fellow believers from persecution, imprisonment, and even death. God”s Double Agent is his fascinating and riveting story.

Bob Fu is indeed God”s double agent. By day Fu worked as a full-time lecturer in a communist school; by night he pastored a house church and led an underground Bible school. This can’t-put-it-down book chronicles Fu”s conversion to Christianity, his arrest and imprisonment for starting an illegal house church, his harrowing escape, and his subsequent rise to prominence in the United States as an advocate for his brethren. God”s Double Agent will inspire readers even as it challenges them to boldly proclaim and live out their faith in a world that is at times indifferent, and at other times murderously hostile, to those who spread the gospel.” (Description and book cover picture taken from Chapters.ca)

I know, such a long book description for this right?  But it really explains everything so well. And when it says that it’s a can’t put it down and I’ll add page turner to that, because that’s literally what it is. You don’t  need a suspense book or anything for it to be a page turner. Well, the only time that you’ll be able to put it down for is when you’re sleeping it’s that good of a book.

You hear stories on the radio or television about what’s going on in China and you think about how crazy it is, and than you read something like this book and you think ‘Wow,  that’s absolutely crazy.’ You would be absolutely right to think in that way, because that’s what happen to me. I’ve heard about things going on in China at church and reading things online so you think you kind of know what’s going on over there, but when I read this book, I didn’t know as much as I thought I did.

It was definitely a page turner for me, everything that’s going on over in China and everything’s that’s happen to Bob Fu in the life that he’s lead, it’s absolutely mind-blowing.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with this book, and why should there be? It’s crazy what people are doing over in China along with some of the other countries to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Real by Jamie Snyder Book Review

Standard

“Would people know I”m a Christian if they didn’t see me at church?”
This gut-check question was just what Jamie Snyder needed. Like many of us, he sensed his faith had become mechanical rather than meaningful, scheduled rather than passionate. Emboldened, Snyder set out to recapture the sold-out lifestyle of early followers of Jesus.
(Part of description  taken from Chapters.ca)

And, snap, that question in the description is one I think everyone should ask themselves, because it’s the truth. What would people say about me if they didn’t see me at church? Would they say that I’m still a Christian based on how I live my life? It’s an eye opener question because it’s the truth, because it’s real.

Along with everything that Jamie has to say in this, he brings in real life stories, which just bring more authenticity to it, and for me personally, real life stories are the way to go, because they bring more people together and they can relate with everything.

we all want to be 24/7 followers of Jesus, even though a lot of us get busy with everything else that boggles down our lives and gets us busy and a little distracted from what we really should be doing, and through this book, Jamie helps us bring everything around us into focus and that we can see what we need to see a little bit clearly, a little bit more real. Some of the stories in this book are just simply amazing and I want to tell you them all, but that would be ruining the book.

We all need to be 24/7 followers of Jesus, but the important thing is that we also need to be real, and Jamie Helps us along with things that he talks about in his book.

Jamie Snyder writes and preaches to thousands of people every week as pastor of Lakeside Christian Church. He previously served at the country”s fifth largest church, Southeast Christian Church, where Kyle Idleman pastors. Jamie and his wife, Alex, and their two young sons live in Lakeside Park, Kentucky.
