Any Hackintosh help out there would be appreciated?

My 2009 iMac has been running slow is fine for basic things, but for trying to render video it takes forever. (\maybe about an hour and a half for 3 minutes.)
Anyways, long story short, I bought a used ASUS ROG laptop from Newegg, because I couldn’t justify spending the extra money for a MacBook pro, let alone a refurbished one. The other day I finished the El Capitan installer download and have it on the usb drive.

I’ve been following the installation instructions, and I get to the disk utility part, and when I go to erase the partition that I want El Capitan on, it says it’s done/error, the partition is formatted for mac but somehow becomes full al of a sudden. I tried the same thing with another partition and it basically did the same thing, but I as able to get it back so Windows was able to recognize it.
I still have the one partition that’s basically full that’s Mac Formatted. Since it’s formatted for mac it won’t show up in windows
Is there a terminal command I can use to fix this problem?

I’m working on a new book project and I thought I could make it a little more interactive!

The other day it was amazing outside! The sun was out, I was wearing a t-shirt and jeans and no winter coat getting my hair cut, pulling a hoodie off the clothesline and putting it on and smelling it because it just smelled so good.

Anyways, I thought to myself how there’s a lot of smells out there that people really like. I thought I would make a book, and then get others to submit a favourite smell that they like.

So that’s what I’m doing. You can submit your favourite smell, and why you like it. Maybe it invokes recalling a childjood memory, or something completely random.

I think this will be fun.

Email your favourite smell to :

And The Winner is…

I think I might have it figured out (Hopefully!)
A few days ago I posted that I was looking for a more compact camera for going on big trips since I wasn’t really planning on taking my bulky Canon Rebel T2i with me.
I had previously mentioned that I was thinking about getting an ilc camera, preferably the Sony Alpha a5000. I wouldn’t be getting any more lenses for it, and it only going to 50mm, I realized that I wanted something a little better so I wouldn’t miss a great photo.
I started looking at advanced point and shoot cameras, and in all. I’m not sure what I think about Canon’s more advanced P&S types.
After spending a good number of hours researching this, I think I have an answer – Sony Cyber-Shot HX90V (Links to review)

Now, all of the photographers out there are probably saying, “Why not go for the RX100?”
First off, the price. The RX models are more expensive. Plus, with an optical zoom of 3.6x, it’s basically up to 100mm. I don’t want to keep regretting if was ever to get one of them, that just not being able to get a better because because I wish it zoomed in more.

I don’t really care much for the flip up “selfie screen” of the HX90V though I guess it would be great for group pictures. If anyone has this model, do you know if it has a delay shutter, like setting it for 10 seconds so you can group everyone together before the camera takes the picture? That would be neat.

Also, I’m not sure how much nighttime pictures I’ll be taking with this, but every review I’ve read online says  that it’s not the greatest for low light sensitivity, high iso photos? But what do you think about it?

Another thing I want to know is how does it do with focusing on your subject while blurring out the background? Does it do well with motion, like someone playing soccer and taking a clear picture of them moving so fast?
I think I’ve looked at all of the options(Or I should say all of the other cameras), and I’m really liking what I’m reading about this.
Unless anyone else out there has some better ideas for about the same price range, under $500

I’d love to hear your comments and such. I’m not too big of a point and zoom person.

For the price of an ilc or this, I might be nothing with this just incase carrying lens wouldn’t be as light, or just the weight factor of each camera.

Camera Question for all of you photographers out there.

Topic – compact ilc cameras

In February, our church is planning on going on a missions trip to Costa Rica to help missionaries that we are sponsoring.
Anyways, to the matter at hand.
I really wasn’t on planning to take my Canon Rebel T2i with me because it is big and bulky and yeah, just carrying that around with everything that we’d be doing might no be a good idea.

So I’ve been thinking about ilc cameras. Basically it’s like a dslr but in a compact camera body. I’m not too familiar with these so I’ve been doing my research, and that’s another reason why I am asking all of you for your opinion/advice/help.
I’m not looking to spend a huge fortunate, but I would like some good quality pictures (not saying the a kodak easy share isn’t bad, but I might want to put this into focus.)
I’m not sure if anyone else has anything better they’ve found, but after doing research one that I like in particular s the Sony a5000. It seems compact, and even with the kit lens when turned off it compacts to 30mm, which is crazy! Stereo sound too!

The one thing that I’ve read aboutt that I like is that you can download apps through the camera like a time-lapse add-on and such, but my question is do they get downloaded to the sd card that you have in the camera or does it go into the internal memory of the camera?

The Sony a6000 looks great, but it’s the price tag. I’ve found the a5000 for about 398 which isn’t too bad, though I”m maybe seeing if I can find it cheaper (Buying just the body and a separate lens on eBay looks like it might be around the same price.)

Any advice/anything else would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t really think I want to go just point and shoot since I want also quality, but also video quality as well.

Edit – Even though I won’t be using this camera a lot, would you suggest I go with an ilc or Point and Shoot?

OSX El Capitan and Adobe CS5

I haven’t signed up for the beta’s yet or anything like that, but I do have one question to anyone out there that would know.

Does anyone know if Apple’s new El Capitan OS will support Adobe CS5? I’m running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 on my iMac an I haven’t really upgraded yet because I really like iPhoto and have heard that Photos isn’t that good. I’m using Legacy to run CS5 and wondering if the new OS X will have this ability? I, like probably countless others, can’t afford to pay the pricing for Adobe CC

5,4,3,2,1…Thunderbirds are go!

Honestly, hearing those words definitely brought back memories.
Now, I’m only 30, and I wasn’t alive back in the 60s when Thunderbirds aired on television, but I remember watching reruns on dvd’s and the movies that were made.
Honestly, only finding out just now that they brought back Thunderbirds to the small screen was exciting. The British know what’s going on, seriously. Just seeing the very first episode and hearing the iconic countdown was exciting. Gone are the marionettes and the strings you could see, replaced now by cgi which, I must say, are amazing and fit this show perfectly I think. Sure, there might be parts here and there where you can kind of tell something’s different, but I think it just adds to the show. The cast for the Tracy boy’s is beautiful, and of course Brains is always going to be Brains. Even adding a new character was great.
I know it’s a new rebooted series for the ages, but watching the first two episodes, almost kind of felt like a continuation as some of the same struggles from back then are still going on. (I won’t tell you so you can still be surprised.) Though, I wan’t to know, and maybe it was explained between the shows, but What happened to a certain critical member? I won’t spoil you with names, but I know what they showed in the episodes, but why? Does it get explained before? I must say though,  it’s a great plot point.
ITV (Hopefully i spelt that right, if I didn’t I apologize.) You’ve outdone yourself. I’m excited to see what will happen in the future.
Oh, bring it across the pond will you please?

Dear Ontario Liberals and the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission,

Thank you for closing down the bus station in Englehart.
Thank you for saying that you would make the passenger bus system better when you cancelled the Passenger rail service.
Thank you for the good people that worked at the station that don’t have jobs anymore.
Thank you for allowing me to purchase my bus tickets in a multipack (so I can save money) before the station closed because at the Englehart Motel (or Olde Towne Inn) will only sell single tickets that are good only for the same day. (I don’t even know how early I should be anymore since they don’t have a waiting area and everyone’s going to fill the restaurant.)
Thank you for letting me waste more time then normal. (I get to go twice now instead of once! Why don’t I just stay there!)
Thank you for letting me try and cross Highway 11 and not kill myself especially when they are still working on the bridge and there’s going to be a lot of traffic on there. (I feel like I’m part of the game frogger.)
Thank you for making me not feel safe (see previous statement.)
Thank you for letting me able able to leave earlier for the bus now.
Thank you for closing the station in Matheson as well.
Thank you for subsidizing Go Transit in Southern Ontario, but not us. What if they weren’t subsidized by the government?
Thank you for caring about the North.
Thank you.

(I’m really trying not to be sarcastic if you weren’t getting that, but I was also trying to be nice while writing this.)
